We’re Hiring an Epilepsy Educator!

Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario is a not for profit agency providing services for people living with epilepsy throughout Southwestern Ontario. Our mission is to enhance the lives of people who are affected by epilepsy and seizure disorders by providing a network of services that educate, support, and build community awareness.

We are currently seeking a part time (21 hours/week) Epilepsy Educator to work in Windsor/Essex.

The Epilepsy Educator will be responsible for providing support, social programming, education and seizure first aid training for people living with epilepsy, their families, and their communities (workplace, school based and general presentations). They will also be responsible for health promotion and outreach to health care providers throughout Windsor/Essex. The position requires regular travel and extensive data collection and reporting.

We are looking for someone who has shown outstanding personal initiative and passion for their work, with experience in advocacy (in school and/or healthcare setting) and public speaking, working with health care providers and knowledge of community resources. Post-secondary education in public health, health promotion or social work is preferred. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision, collate data and successfully meet program goals. Must be mature, self-directed and have the ability to travel throughout Southwestern Ontario.
