Today is Rare Disease Day

Today we are celebrating Rare Disease Day.

Rare Disease Day is a movement for rare diseases, working towards equity in social opportunity, healthcare, as well as access to diagnosis and therapies for people living with a rare disease. It is celebrated on the rarest day of the year February 28 (or 29 on a leap year). Ever since the inception of Rare Disease Day, it has played a critical role in advocating and building communities for rare diseases.

Everyone can participate by acting and raising awareness for this vulnerable population who require immediate and urgent attention. Show your support or even share your own experiences online and with friends to spotlight the rare disease for which you are advocating. You can also share your colours for rare disease day on social media, monuments or buildings to shine a light on people living with a rare disease, to change and improve the lives of the 300 million people worldwide.
