Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario is a not for profit agency providing services for people living with epilepsy throughout Southwestern Ontario. Our mission is to enhance the lives of people who are affected by epilepsy and seizure disorders by providing a network of services that educate, support, and build community awareness.
We are currently seeking a part time (21 hours/week) Epilepsy Educator to work in Windsor/Essex County.
The Epilepsy Educator will provide epilepsy education and seizure first aid training to the general public through school and workplace presentations and at public events. They will also meet with newly diagnosed families to help them better understand their condition and connect them to programs and services. The Epilepsy Educator is also required to coordinate volunteers, local fundraising, awareness events and summer camp.
We are looking for someone who has shown outstanding personal initiative and passion for their work. Post-secondary education in public health, health promotion, social work, education or related education is preferred. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision, collate data and successfully meet determined program goals. Must be mature, self-directed and able to work in a home office with ability to travel throughout Windsor/Essex County. Proof of two Health Canada approved COVID-19 vaccinations is required.
