
Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario is a not-for-profit agency providing services for people living with epilepsy throughout Southwestern Ontario. Our mission is to enhance the lives of people who are affected by epilepsy and seizure disorders by providing a network of services that educate, support, and build community awareness.
We are currently seeking a part time (21 hours/week) Epilepsy Educator (hybrid position).
The Epilepsy Educator will provide epilepsy education and seizure first aid training to the general public through school and workplace presentations and at public events. They will also meet with newly diagnosed families to help them better understand their condition and connect them to programs and services. The Epilepsy Educator is also required to coordinate volunteers, local fundraising, and epilepsy awareness events.
We are looking for someone who has shown outstanding personal initiative and passion for their work. Post-secondary education in public health, health promotion, social work, education or related education is preferred. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision, collate data, successfully meet determined program goals, and be able to work with a diverse range of people. Must be mature, self-directed, possess above average computer skills, and be able to work in a home office with access to reliable transportation for travel to in-person presentations and events.
